Reads Electric Company Pty Ltd is situated in South Fremantle and is a well-established family-owned business with over 60 years of industry service specializing in the repair of all types of industrial electric motors and associated rotating equipment, we currently have positions available for both a fully qualified fitter and electrical fitter to join our expanding friendly team

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Previous experience in Electric Fitting and Electric Motor Repairs preferred
  • Commitment to quality, health, safety and environment
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to be self-motivated and work as part of a team
  • Ability to operate and maintain electrical testing equipment
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems and components
  • Flexibility to work overtime when required
  • Current WA drivers’ licence
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: $38.00 – $45.00 per hour
    Expected hours: 38 per week

Responsibilities
  • The role will primarily be workshop based however the electrical fitter will be required on occasion to attend to existing customers sites and vessels throughout WA to perform fault finding on distribution boards, control panels, Plc, AC and DC motors, starters, drives and all associated control circuits
  • Identify and troubleshoot electrical issues
  • Workshop duties will include performing high standard overhauls to a large variety of AC/DC motors, alternators and transformers ranging up to 30 ton in weight
  • Perform routine maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
  • Prepare detailed reports and documentation for electrical projects.
  • Operate and calibrate electrical testing equipment.
  • Conduct field inspections and site visits for electrical projects.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Collaborate with engineers to develop and improve electrical systems.
  • Ensure that all electrical work complies with local and national electrical codes
