Responsibilities

WHAT YOU WILL DO

At Volvo Construction Equipment Germany GmbH you will contribute to the transformation of our company, the construction industry and society at large.
As an Electric System Engineer (m/f/d) you will be responsible for the new development of Compact Wheel Loaders, both BEV and ICE machines, as well as for their product maintenance activities together with different departments locally and on other sites.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will be:

  • Support the development and product maintenance as an E&E System Designer striving for common solutions
  • Ensure the expected quality of the Electric system and subsystems (HV/LV) by fulfilling the applicable specifications and standards with a high focus on EMC and product risk
  • Development of the electrical schematics and wiring harnesses (2D/3D) in new development projects as well as in the product maintenance
  • E&E component selection and ownership in a lifecycle perspective focusing on QDCF and commonality
  • Release and maintenance of the product structure in our PDM system
  • Support of the prototype building and testing in our production facility and/or the test shop

In this role, you will bring:

  • A university degree in electrical or mechatronic engineering or a related field
  • Sound knowledge of CATIA V5 or other CAD programs
  • Experience in working with PDM systems
  • Extended skills in electrical schematics and wiring harness layout
  • Ideally knowledge of risk management (FMEA & HARA)
  • Expertise in E-Mobility and/or construction machinery is an advantage
  • A high sense of responsibility and the ability to quickly familiarize yourself with new topics
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as a strong team orientation and the willingness to share knowledge and continuously develop yourself
  • Good written and spoken English knowledg
