Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Industrial Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in HV or MV electrical design, construction and development in Italy
  • Experience and sound understanding of the grid connection process in Italy, from application to construction, including national standards and TERNA requirements applicable to the HV systems, including but not limited to CEI, IEC, Italian standards and TERNA Grid Code and relative annexes
  • Experience of design software including AutoCAD, DigSILENT or ETAP or similar
  • Ability to originate grid connection concept/preliminary designs and associated sizing calculations
  • Ability to undertake grid code / network power system studies
  • Experience with protection and control schemes
  • Fluency in Italian and English; Spanish will be considered a plus
  • Willingness to travel regularly across the country

Responsibilities
  • Manage HV or MV grid connection engineering aspects of projects
  • Grid connection option / feasibility studies
  • Equipment selection, engineering design and calculations, from concept stage to construction
  • Value engineering, health & safety designers risk assessment
  • Preliminary grid studies i.e. short circuit study, load flow study, compliance with TERNA standards and simulation for specific projects
  • Engagement with DNOs and TSOs
  • Design reviews to ensure compliance with company standards and relevant industry codes & standards
  • Manage and supervise third party engineers or external design services
  • Preliminary capex cost estimates during development stage, identifying risks, exclusions, contingencies, and assumptions
  • Provide technical support to management of the connection agreement
  • Technical specifications for equipment and words tenders
  • Engineering support to tender and construction phase of projects
  • Electrical Engineering support for PV, Wind and BESS.
