ELECTRICAL & INSTRUMENTATION SUPERINTENDENT

Schedule: Compressed Work Week (9-hour dayshifts, every other Friday off)

YOUR SKILLS AND ABILITIES

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

ü Red Seal trade in one of the E/I Maintenance trades (dual ticket strongly preferred) or Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering
ü Strong computer system aptitude and experience working with various types of software including Microsoft Office Suite; previous experience using maintenance management software is an asset.
ü Pulp and paper experience preferred
ü Minimum 5 years of supervisory and planning experience

Responsibilities

YOUR ROLE

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the E&I Superintendent will be responsible for oversight of electrical, instrumentation and HVAC related activities and functions on site. This position is responsible for the E/I Supervisors and provides direction for the department. The successful candidate will have the following responsibilities, and will have demonstrated the noted skills and abilities.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

ü Oversees E/I/HVAC functions and manages E/I supervisors
ü Supports and communicates all mill safety initiatives, standards and policies
ü Ensures reliability road map initiatives are progressing and meet KPI’s
ü Keeps abreast of new and changing technologies and equipment in Maintenance
ü Initiates, recommends and provides solutions to instrumentation problems through designated channels and verifies the implementation of those solutions
ü Ensures adequate training of personnel in coordination with Maintenance supervisors
ü Defines selection criteria and identifies employee training needs for Maintenance personnel
ü Evaluates E/I maintenance spend vs budget expectations
ü Prepares the Job Training Checklist for Maintenance direct reports
ü Ensures the Work Notification/Work Order is processed and completed once received by Maintenance Department
ü Responsible for the control, calibration and maintenance of all monitoring and measuring devices
ü Work with Supervisors, Union and HR to help solve employee issues
ü Utilized the MOC process as required
ü Responsible for the preparation and selection of the appropriate Model of Quality Assurance for inspection, measuring and test equipment including instrumentation and calibration equipment and advising Procurement and Supply Management of its required specifications
ü Reviews ISO Maintenance Procedures
ü Investigates E&I equipment problem areas and develops solutions to improve environmental performance
ü Approves Maintenance Shop Gas Response Procedure and Gas Alarm Maintenance Procedure
ü Participates in the Mill on-call rotation
