Please note this position is based at Olympic Dam, operating on a 7/7 day/night roster pattern arrangement with residential, FIFO (from Adelaide) or DIDO options available.
We currently have a role available for an Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Technician to join our Surface Maintenance department. In this role you will be responsible for executing planned and unplanned maintenance activities on fixed plant within a minerals processing environment.
Your work will contribute to optimal production, equipment performance and availability, as well as improving reliability and ensuring that we are well placed for future growth within Surface operations. You will be trained on the BHP Operating System (BOS), as well as contribute to the company’s focus on standardised work.

In this role you will:

• Comply to and consistently follow the standards and procedures designed to enable you to work safely and effectively every day
• Carry out unplanned and planned routine maintenance, inspections and checks to Surface electrical equipment and instrumentation
• Assist in resolution of E&I issues affecting equipment performance and availability
• Review and update maintenance schedule plans and equipment history
• Provide E&I trade skills to perform care maintenance tasks within the electrical maintenance area, to ensure overall reliability and stability
• Develop and revise operating and maintenance procedures
• Communicate plant status to appropriate departments
• Maintain a high level of housekeeping in all work areas
