Description

ELECTRICAL AND INSTRUMENTATION TECHNICIAN

We are seeking an experienced Electrical and Instrumentation Technician to join our team at Dugald River Mine. Reporting to the Supervisor – Maintenance Electrical Surface, you will provide maintenance support to the Dugald River Mine operations.
Electricians with proven experience in hazardous area installation and maintenance are also encouraged to apply.
This role is a based on an 8/6 dayshift (night shift as required). Drive in drive out (DIDO) from Cloncurry or Mt Isa, or FIFO from Townsville or Brisbane.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES:

  • Dual trade certification in Electrical & Certificate 3 Instrumentation with at least 3–5 years of trade experience.
  • A strong work ethic, commitment to safety, and extensive maintenance background with the ability to perform repairs, installations, servicing, overhauls, and commissioning in a surface mineral processing plant environment.
  • The ability to work autonomously or in a team environment.
  • Proven experience with HV switchgear, motor controls, variable speed AC drives, PLCs, and pneumatic/electronic process control instrumentation.

HIGHLY REGARDED BUT NOT ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Certificate IV in Hazardous Areas
  • Radiation Safety Officer
  • High Voltage Switching
  • Experienced in chilled water central plant systems, HVAC equipment in commercial and industrial settings.
  • Familiarity with computerised maintenance management systems such as SAP
Responsibilities
  • Ensuring statutory compliance in maintaining fixed electrical and instrumentation infrastructure, while fostering a culture of safety.
  • Ensuring the reliability and safe operation of assets, with daily and weekly performance measured against production targets as critical KPIs.
  • Applying your experience in fault finding and fixed plant maintenance in a heavy industrial/process environment.
