Please note that a New Zealand Certificate in Electrical Pre-Trade (level 3) is required for this role. Our Macraes Process Plant Electrical team are on the search for an enthusiastic and committed apprentice. Reporting into the Electrical Supervisor, and working a 7 on / 7 off daytime only roster, this role will assist with routine electrical maintenance of the Macraes processing plant electrical equipment and control systems. Key Tasks and Responsibilities Carry out routine electrical maintenance of processing plant electrical equipment as directed Assist with fault finding and repairs Record all fault and repair information into the computerised maintenance management system to ensure all future planning can be improved Actively provide suggestions and alternatives for improvements to maintenance and operational processes Ensure that the workshop and yard area are kept tidy and that the site is left tidy after maintenance work is carried out Undertake all requirements of the training programme to attain the necessary electrical qualifications Attend pre-shift safety and toolbox safety meetings Complete Stop-Think and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) prior to undertaking tasks Qualifications Must have successfully completed New Zealand Certificate in Electrical Pre-Trade (level 3) Full and Current Driver Licence, ability to drive manual vehicles is preferred Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, can progress to a fully qualified Electrician role, taking on more complex repair and maintenance tasks Experience: Must have effective problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyse a problem to select an appropriate solution. Good written and oral interpersonal skills, including the ability to listen to and convey information to achieve a positive result. A commitment to the training programme including attending block courses and completing the unit standards.
