The Idaho Transportation Department is seeking a motivated Electrical Apprentice to join our D1 team in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. This position is temporary, non-benefited. This is a hands-on opportunity ideal for someone currently enrolled in an electrician program who’s looking to gain real-world experience and will work under a licensed Electrician.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist licensed electricians with installations, maintenance, and repairs
  • Pull wires, install outlets, fixtures, and panels
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Follow safety protocols and local electrical codes
  • Organize tools and equipment

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an electrical trade program or apprenticeship
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems and tools
  • Willingness to learn and follow directions
  • Strong work ethic and reliability
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

Supplemental Information

The position requires:

  • Eagerness to learn;
  • Ability to work well under the supervision of a Journeyman Electrician following electrical code manuals;
  • Pre-employment and random drug testing;
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds;
  • Knowledge in traffic signal systems is a bonus.
