JOB PURPOSE The primary role of the Electrical / ELV / Security BIM Coordinator shall be to develop, manage, and coordinate high-quality 3D BIM models for Electrical, Extra Low Voltage (ELV) Electronic and Physical Security systems throughout the full project lifecycle. The role shall support the design process by producing accurate BIM models, drawings, and documentation that comply with project requirements, industry standards, and regulatory codes. The role is expected to provide technical direction to the security design team on all BIM related matters, developing technical competence and ensuring consistent application of relevant standards, best practices, and project requirements. In addition, the role will serve as the primary point of contact for all security related BIM matters, providing expert guidance on technical queries, coordination challenges, and modelling issues. This includes liaising with internal stakeholders and project teams to ensure timely resolution of BIM-related concerns and effective integration of security systems across disciplines. QUALIFICATION / EXPERIENCE ● Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. ● 7+ years of experience in BIM, specifically in Electrical/ELV/Security systems. ● 3-5 years of experience in BIM coordination. ● Strong experience with Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD MEP. ● Sound understanding of BIM Execution Plans (BEP), Level of Development (LOD), and project delivery standards. ● Experience working on large-scale, multi-disciplinary construction projects. GENERAL EXPECTANCY The BIM Coordinator is expected to consistently deliver accurate, reliable, and well-coordinated BIM models that support the successful planning, design, and execution of complex security projects. The role requires a strong commitment to quality, technical excellence, and compliance with company standards, industry regulations, and project-specific requirements. The individual is expected to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, contributing proactively to coordination efforts and resolving design and constructability challenges through effective use of BIM processes and digital tools. Maintaining model integrity throughout the project lifecycle is essential, as is the ability to adapt to evolving design requirements and managing priorities across multiple projects. RESPONSIBILITIES ● Develop, manage, and coordinate 3D BIM models for security systems (Electronic/Physical). ● Lead clash detection and coordination processes using Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, ACC/ BIM 360 and other BIM tools. ● Provide technical support and mentorship to the security design team in BIM. ● Ensure designs comply with project requirements, standards, and codes. ● Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other discipline BIM leads to ensure overall project coordination. ● Act as the primary point of contact for security-related BIM queries and issues. ● Facilitate coordination meetings, resolving design conflicts and model discrepancies. ● Review models for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project BIM requirements. ● Implement and enforce BIM standards, workflows, and best practices. Conduct regular audits on BIM models ● Generate detailed coordination reports, clash reports, and model status updates. ● Support the BIM Manager in preparing BEP and Weekly progress BIM reports. Apply in-depth knowledge of industry standards, codes, and best practices to deliver accurate, coordinated, and compliant BIM models and documentation. Effectively utilises BIM tools and digital workflows (Dynamo, MagiCAD) to support design development, coordination, and project delivery, while providing technical guidance and problem-solving support to project teams.
