Description

The Electrical Buyer is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing electrical components, equipment, and materials for the company. This position requires strong knowledge of electrical products, market trends, and supplier networks to ensure cost-effective and high-quality purchasing decisions. The Electrical Buyer works closely with project managers, engineers, and other departments to support the company’s operational and project needs.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field (preferred but not required).
  • Proven experience in the electrical or construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical products, materials, and industry standards.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficient in using procurement software (Sage200) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Ability to analyze market trends and assess supplier capabilities.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

    Pay: £22,880.00-£55,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • Source and purchase electrical components, equipment, and materials for ongoing projects and day-to-day operations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to ensure the best value for the company.
  • Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, price, reliability, and delivery performance.
  • Track and manage inventory levels of electrical components to prevent shortages or overstocking.
  • Monitor industry trends and market conditions to identify new suppliers and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Ensure all purchased materials comply with company specifications and relevant regulations.
  • Collaborate with project teams to understand requirements and provide technical support for material selection.
  • Process purchase orders and handle returns, exchanges, and warranty claims as necessary.
  • Prepare and maintain reports on purchasing activities, including supplier performance, order status, and cost savings.
