OVERVIEW

This position requires Naval/Shipbuilding Design Experience. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CAD Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in electrical engineering and be proficient in various CAD software tools. This role involves creating detailed schematics and layout designs for electrical systems, ensuring that all designs meet industry standards and project specifications. The CAD Designer will collaborate with engineers and project managers to deliver high-quality designs that support our construction and system design efforts.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, Creo, Bluebeam, and NavisWorks.
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles related to system design and layout design.
  • Experience in drafting electrical schematics and layouts for construction projects.
  • Knowledge of NEC standards as they apply to electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and their integration into designs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed drawings and schematics for electrical systems using AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and other CAD software.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to create system designs that meet project requirements.
  • Utilize Bluebeam and NavisWorks for design reviews and coordination with other disciplines.
  • Conduct layout design for electrical wiring, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and printed circuit boards (PCBs).
  • Ensure compliance with National Electrical Code (NEC) standards throughout the design process.
  • Perform drafting tasks to produce accurate representations of electrical systems and components.
  • Assist in the preparation of construction documents and specifications for projects.
  • Review designs for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project timelines.
