QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) year degree in related field or equivalent experience in the electrical construction industry.
  • 2 + years of experience in electrical conceptual estimating, low voltage estimating, National Electrical Code requirements, and design/build estimating preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and virtual meeting software.
  • Computerized estimating skills using Enterprise or another estimating software.
  • Competent organizational skills and attention to detail.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets, photocopiers.
  • This position is occasionally required to be present on construction job sites and may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, uneven terrain, vibration, and noise, requiring the occasional use of a hard hat, work boots, high visibility vest, eye protection and gloves.
  • Employees are frequently required to sit, and occasionally required to kneel, reach, stoop, crouch or crawl.
  • This position requires the ability to lift files, open file cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary.
  • This position may occasionally lift up to 10 pounds.
Responsibilities

The Estimator is responsible for preparing electrical estimates of industrial and commercial projects including automotive, mission critical, and healthcare. Complete estimates include all quotations and subcontractors required for the project. A high degree of accuracy, communication, and attention to detail is required.

  • Accurately estimate labor, materials, and administrative costs for projects.
  • Interface with the Business Development team as well as Designers, Project Managers, General Foreman, and others to resolve issues throughout the project.
  • Accurately interpret the design drawings submitted. This includes all design drawings from all disciplines including civil, structural, architectural, and mechanical drawings.
  • Utilize estimating software to properly estimate projects, enter data, and perform takeoffs.
  • Performs counts of electrical components on design drawings including Lighting / Power / Low Voltage Systems drawings.
  • Accurately enter data into estimating software.
  • Participate in estimating kickoff meetings.
  • Complete the estimator check list.
  • Participate in pre-bid, bid and final bid reviews with the Estimating Team.
  • Prepare and seek quotation of materials and subcontracts.
  • Review and understand the Electrical and Low Voltage Systems specifications.
  • Review and understand the project bid form and the project requirements.

$71,250 - $95,000/Year + discretionary bonus + employee ownership + benefits
