SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Regional VP of Construction or President, a Project Manager is ultimately responsible for profitably managing three areas of the electrical or technology construction projects: Manpower, Material, and Money.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Project experience with a company in mechanical or electrical Construction market
  • Strength in people management
  • Understanding of accounting and money management
  • Knowledge of electrical materials and their purchase cost
  • Experience with low voltage systems and technology
  • Excellent communication skills and positive interactions
  • Systemic organizational skills
  • Computer skills including MS Office especially Excel
Responsibilities

  • Responsible for safety and quality control of projects
  • Direct the efforts of team members to establish budgets or cost estimates for projects
  • Delegate work to Project Coordinator
  • Manage labor volume for field resources. Understand what type of resources are needed.
  • Establish project documentation and information into prescribed format and provide information to team members and stakeholders in a clear and timely fashion.
  • Draft and submit contract change proposals and manage contract and sub-contract changes where necessary due to project scope modifications.
  • Confer with field workers, owners, general contractors, or design professionals to discuss and resolve matters, such as work procedures, complaints, or construction problems.
  • Submit product, material, and service data to customer for their review and approval; coordinate approved product, material, and service onto the project site for installation within project schedules.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools and track project milestones and deliverables.
  • Coordinate material delivery to the construction site
  • Manage project financials to include partial and final billing in cooperation with the Accounting department.
  • Conduct project close out and follow up to create recommendations to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements; along with best practices and tools for project execution.
  • Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the company.
  • Locate, evaluate and develop leads into project opportunities; secure project opportunities and manage customer accounts.
  • Acquire resources and coordinate the efforts of team members and third-party vendors and subcontractors in order to deliver projects according to plans and specifications.
  • Knowledge of Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) activities, Job Productivity Assurance and Control (JPAC), and Short Interval Scheduling (SIS)
  • Ability to manipulate and extract data from project planning and tracking software
  • Understanding or willingness to learn Agile Construction principles
