JOB DESCRIPTION:

This role is primary accountable for delivering safe, reliable and cost-effective electrical, control, and telemetry designs in compliance with applicable codes and standards.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • University degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario (PEO) or eligible to become a member.
  • Minimum 4 years related technical work experience in design of electrical or control systems.
  • 2 years of work experience in Power system modeling is preferred.
  • Proficiency in the use of MS Word, Excel, MS Project, Outlook.
  • A strong capability to work effectively with clients and vendors without compromising the Company’s business focus and ethics.
  • Awareness of applicable industry codes, standards, and best practices.
  • Strong organizational, planning, negotiating and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

-Generate load flow, short circuit, Arc-Flash report utilizing Easy Power modeling tool.
- Design electrical and control required for gas distribution system and compressor stations.
- Provide technical input for electrical, instrumentation and control systems and associated design philosophies as they would relate to commissioning and operation; identify factors which affect throughput, costs, reliability, and risks to equipment, personnel, and the environment. Optimize those factors into design.
- Deliver and lead engineering Assessments, Capital, and maintenance projects designs.
- Support and lead Engineering Tasks for Integration Initiatives within the Team and the Broader Business to deliver optimization for Engineering and Operations including the Content Management.
- Coordinate with Stations and Low Carbon Transition Engineering group for relevant design requirements and reviews.
- Actively participate in risk review, asset management review sessions and various industry activities.
- Lead responses to request for changes submitted by stakeholders.
- Build strong relationships with Electrical, Control and Energy Systems, Gas Control, Regional Operations, Construction, System Improvement, and other partners.
