Visit us at packaging.toppan.com Summary Description We are seeking an experienced Electrical/Controls Engineer with strong PLC programming and industrial automation skills. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Siemens STEP 7 and Schneider Electric PLC platforms, along with proficiency in AutoCAD and CMMS software for maintenance planning, scheduling, and team coordination. What you’ll be doing Develop and modify PLC programs using Siemens STEP 7 and Schneider Electric PLC software Ensure the safety of all employees by leading a comprehensive Sonoco safety process to prevent injuries. Lead plant compliance of all federal, state and local environmental and safety regulations. Perform as a key member of the plant leadership team – positive communicator and problem solver - driving for plant/process improvements, meeting objectives and setting the bar for performance standards. Support pillar continuous improvement activities. Strong troubleshooting skills in industrial electrical controls Diagnoses and resolve electrical, control, and automation issues in industrial equipment Assist with system upgrades, commissioning, and start-ups Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to improve equipment reliability Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and company procedures Maintain accurate technical documentation and change records Proficiency in AutoCAD for electrical drawings and schematics Experience using CMMS software for maintenance scheduling and asset management Ability to read and interpret electrical / mechanical schematics Experience with VFDs, motor controls, and industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Modbus) Strong understanding of OSHA requirements related to equipment in-house. Ability to identify gaps and assist in implementing countermeasures to achieve Zero Safety Incidents. Ability to lead and develop a highly collaborative and effective team. Proficient in Root Cause Analysis techniques (FMEA’s, 5Why’s, ATS, etc.) and developing/implementing Countermeasures to drive Zero Breakdown culture. Process-oriented. Can identify gaps in any process and implement solutions. Management experience in manufacturing or industrial environments Ability to lead, prioritize, and coordinate work for maintenance and technical teams Experience planning and scheduling work using CMMS or similar systems Experience with preventive maintenance programs and reliability initiatives Strong project management skills, including task prioritization, timelines, and resource allocation Effective communication skills for working with operations, management, and external vendors Ability to mentor technicians and engineers and support skill development Experience managing contractors, vendors, and service providers Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities under time-sensitive conditions Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities using CMMS software Understanding of safety leadership and enforcement of electrical and workplace safety standards This position is located in Morristown, TN and 100% onsite We’d love to hear from you if: Minimum experience 3+ years of successful experience leading a plant maintenance department in an industrial manufacturing environment and/or 5+ years of supervisory manufacturing experience. Minimum education required: Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Maintenance, Engineering, or a related field. Experience with CMMS preferred.
