Job Description: Electrical Controls Technician

Why This Job is Important. The Electrical Control Tech II supports the Electrical Control Supervisor and a hard-working team of machine operators who make wipes for our customers. This important position oversees operations on manufacturing value streams to ensure everything runs seamlessly every day so that our customers’ shelves stay full – and so their customers can buy the wipes they need for their baby, teenager, signi?cant other, or parent (or even their pet!) when they need to. It’s a big deal.
Our best Electrical Control Techs are masters of juggling many things simultaneously and have excellent electrical and controls theory knowledge.
We also prefer that each electrical control tech has experience in Allen-Bradley Control Logic, SLC500, and PanelView+ programming, experience with AC drives, servos, sensors, flow meters, and Ethernet, AutoCAD experience, high-speed automation, and packaging/processing experience, and secondary education in a field related to management or business is also preferred but not required.
About You.
What You Can Expect.
As an Electrical Control Tech II, you would be responsible for supporting the manufacturing teams to meet production goals, troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical/electronic equipment, including but not limited to programmable controls, power supplies, drives, gages, and test equipment.
Assists and trains other maintenance and/or technical level employees to maintain and operate equipment efficiently and safely.
Plans and performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical theories and principles, writing specifications, local and national electrical codes, properties of various materials, and principles of operation and application of electronic equipment.
Installs, starts up, and shuts down equipment in accordance with Company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with OSHA requirements.
Advises operators and line mechanics on operational procedures and requirements for working safely with electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment and components.
Informs appropriate management and line mechanics of potential electrical/mechanical problems and inherent dangers.
Maintains Company-required performance and maintenance records for identified equipment.
Performs preventive maintenance functions as directed. Assists maintenance personnel with technical troubleshooting.
Our Electrical Control Techs must always “think safe” and anticipate obstacles to prevent production line downtime and meet piece count schedules.
The Electrical Control Techs communicate to leadership through data using various shift reports to detail the successes and challenges the production team is experiencing. We expect our electrical control techs to anticipate challenges and solve problems creatively.

A high school education and demonstrated electrical controls experience in a manufacturing environment, OR a two-year technical degree (or another closely related ?eld).
We need you to be able to follow directions, yet often work independently, and know when it’s the right time to adjust your work style accordingly. With over 900,000 square feet of combined warehouse and manufacturing space, our electrical control techs must be able to stand and walk for much of the day. Sometimes, they may need to stretch, bend, squat, climb, or lift up to 25 pounds to complete a task.
