Requirements

  • 5+ years of commissioning experience in electrical systems within mission-critical, semiconductor, or industrial environments.
  • Strong knowledge of medium- and low-voltage power distribution, UPS systems, generators, ATS/STS, and grounding systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and single-line diagrams.
  • Proficiency with commissioning documentation tools (CxAlloy, Bluebeam, MS Office Suite).
  • OSHA 30 certification (or ability to obtain prior to start)
Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Commissioning Engineer to join our commissioning team on a high-profile semiconductor facility project in Sunnyvale, CA. In this role, you will lead and support the commissioning of electrical systems from pre-functional testing through final acceptance, ensuring all systems meet design intent, performance requirements, and client quality standards.
This is an exciting opportunity to be embedded directly on a cutting-edge project, working closely with the owner, design team, contractors, and commissioning agents to deliver a technically complex facility in a fast-paced environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute electrical commissioning plans, checklists, and test procedures for project systems.
  • Oversee pre-functional and functional testing of electrical systems, verifying installation and performance per design and specifications.
  • Coordinate with design, construction, and QA/QC teams to resolve issues identified during commissioning.
  • Witness and document testing of electrical distribution equipment (switchgear, switchboards, MCCs, panelboards).
  • Test and verify critical backup systems, including UPS systems, standby generators, ATS/STS, and power distribution units.
  • Support commissioning of specialty semiconductor facility systems, such as process power, grounding, and cleanroom electrical infrastructure.
  • Ensure integration of electrical systems with building automation and monitoring systems.
  • Maintain accurate and complete commissioning documentation for client turnover.
  • Participate in owner, contractor, and vendor meetings to track progress and coordinate activities.
  • Identify deficiencies, log them in the commissioning database, and track them to closure.
