JOB DESCRIPTION:

An Electrical Design Draftsman is responsible for translating electrical engineering designs and plans into detailed technical drawings and schematics. They work closely with electrical engineers and designers to ensure that electrical systems are accurately represented and can be effectively implemented during construction.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

· An Associate degree in electrical engineering, Work experience in Electrical Design, or a related field is often preferred.
· Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, especially AutoCAD and electrical design software.
· Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, codes, and standards.
· Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in drafting and design work.
· Effective communication and teamwork skills.
· Problem-solving abilities and adaptability.
· Knowledge of project management principles is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Drafting Electrical Plans:
a. Create detailed electrical drawings, blueprints, and schematics using computer-aided design (CAD) software based on the electrical design specifications provided.
2. Compliance:
a. Ensure that all electrical drawings and plans comply with local building codes, industry standards, and safety regulations.
3. Collaboration:
a. Collaborate with electrical engineers, designers, and other team members to understand project requirements and make necessary revisions to design drawings.
4. Material and Component Selection:
a. Assist in the selection of appropriate electrical materials, components, and equipment based on project specifications.
5. Documentation:
a. Maintain organized records of all electrical design drawings and revisions, ensuring accurate documentation for future reference and project tracking.
6. Quality Control:
a. Review drawings for accuracy and completeness, identifying and correcting any errors or inconsistencies in design.
7. Cost Estimations:
a. Assist in cost estimation by providing input on the quantities and types of materials needed for electrical systems.
8. Technical Support:
a. Provide technical support to contractors, electricians, and other professionals during the construction and installation phases.
9. Revision Management:
a. Manage and update electrical drawings as project requirements change or evolve during the construction process.
