We have an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced sub-contract manufacturer based in Port Talbot, South Wales. We are looking for a dynamic team-player to join our Technical/Engineering team here at Cornelius Electronics.
QUALIFICATIONS
Ø Preferably qualified to Degree level in Electrical & Electronic Engineering (Although not essential).
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
Ø Understanding of Auto Cad (Essential).
Ø Experienced in 3D Modelling & Design (Preferable).
Ø Competent with Microsoft Office skills (Preferable).
Ø Knowledge of Electrical Wiring (Preferable).
Ø Experience of PPAP submissions and DFMA (Preferable).
Ø Familiarity with basic IPC wiring standards.
Ø Basic understanding of RS232/RS485, Modbus TCP protocols.
Ø PCB Design (Basics).
Ø Python Scripting (Basics)
Ø MySQL experience (Basics)
Ø Experience in programming PLC Controllers (Basics)

THE ROLE
Working in a Technical/Engineering role, you will be responsible for bringing customer products and concepts to fruition within our manufacturing plant. This will range from reverse engineering customer products or information, creating bills of materials, sourcing components, creating detailed in depth production documentation, overseeing sample production and supporting the manufacturing team.
The role also involves liaising with customers directly to better understand their needs and requirements, alongside product and assembly costing.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Ø Reverse engineer customer information or products.
Ø Electrical component identification and sourcing.
Ø Component and assembly design.
Ø Bill of material creation and assembly costing.
Ø Develop and revise wiring harness assembly and installation drawings.
Ø Prepare and/or check documentation as necessary to satisfy customer, company and regulatory requirements.
Ø Produce samples during NPI process.
Ø Provide training and support to operators prior to production release and following.
Ø Work to quickly resolve electrical manufacturing and installation problems.
Ø Monitor and report status versus requirements.
Ø Provide electrical engineering guidance/counsel and communicate program information within the organisation and supporting groups.
