ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER

Location: Bromsgrove HQ
Salary: Up to 65k
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
About the Role
We are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to support the design and estimation of industrial electrical projects, primarily within the water industry (WIMES) and the wider utilities/construction sector. Working under senior guidance, you will take ownership of defined design packages and smaller projects while developing your technical and commercial skills. This role offers structured training and progression towards Senior Design Engineer.
What We’re Looking For

To succeed as an Electrical Design Engineer, you will need:

  • HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering (or working towards/equivalent experience)
  • 1–3 years’ experience in utilities, industrial, or construction sector
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD (2D) and Amtech/Trimble ProDesign (or equivalent software)
  • Knowledge of LV distribution, controls, MCCs, containment, cabling, automation, and instrumentation
  • Strong MS Office and MS Project skills
  • Full UK driving licence

DESIRABLE SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of WIMES standards
  • IOSH Managing Safely (or working towards NEBOSH General/Construction)
  • Familiarity with HVAC, process, or control systems in water treatment
  • Estimation/tendering experience
  • NEC contract awareness (introductory level)
