Description

A global automation machine manufacturer is looking for a Junior Level Electrical Design Engineer to join their Grimsby, ON facility. We need Electrical Design Engineer who has Automation Machine experience. The design experience is needed to be in Canada or USA, not other countries.
This position is responsible for working closely with other engineering departments and project managers to design electrical systems. This involves ensuring device performance reliability and conformance to customer specifications.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR JUNIOR LEVEL ELECTRICAL DESIGN ENGINEER:

  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous Design Experience with EPlan or/and AutoCAD
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience as an Electrical Designer in an industrial/engineering/automation environment.
  • Is able to travel up to 20%
  • Has Full G Drivers License and own vehicle to commute to the office

Responsibilities
  • Attend project kick off meetings to gain knowledge on project specifications, expectations and timelines as well as provide technical knowledge on electrical system functionality. In addition, the Electrical Engineering Designer will provide hours and material costs estimates.
  • Develop and prepare electrical designs, and drawings, from preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets and other data while utilizing Design Requests and conforming to sound engineering practices.
  • Create and maintain electrical schematics of electrical designs as well as other support drawings using AutoCAD electrical software during and after the build cycle.
  • Ensure system performance reliability and conformance to customer specifications.
  • Maintain awareness of budget and schedule commitments during the design cycle.
  • Responsible for the research phase of purchasing for electrical parts. This involves contacting different vendors and factoring price, quality, and delivery. The Electrical Engineering Designer is responsible for justifying product choice to the Project Manager and submitting purchase orders to the purchasing department for all electrical components.
  • Attending project update meetings to review and ensure all projects are on budget and on schedule.
  • Ensure all departmental procedures, health and safety policies, procedures, and responsibilities under the OHSA, are followed during all work activities on site and at the Grimsby location.
