SALARY: Competitive
HOURS: 37 ½ hours per wk - Mon – Thurs 0815 – 1700/ Fri 0815 – 1245
LOCATION: Norwich, NR7 (NO remote or hybrid working)
At MSI-Defence Systems Ltd (MSI-DS) we specialise in Remote Weapon Stations for land-based counter drone and naval applications.

Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join our systems engineering team as an Electrical Design Engineer. This role is to develop and design electrical/ electronic design solutions to support the life cycle of the MSI-DS weapon system range.
This role will involve working on analogue and digital hardware design, wiring design and overall system integration.
The successful candidate will collaborate with other teams to create cutting-edge designs that meet industry standards and customer requirements. You will be primarily be working on analogue and digital hardware and wiring design and overall system integration.
This is an excellent opportunity to showcase your expertise in electrical design as you will mainly be involved in new design projects. Additionally though you may be required to support existing products and projects

The main responsibilities will include:

  • Design electrical systems, including power distribution, control panels and instrumentation
  • Creation of new and maintenance of legacy analogue and digital circuits, including components/parts selection and evaluation
  • Evaluation of system requirements and identification of the correct technical solutions
  • Generation of test, interface and supplier documentation
  • Support of the test department in initial “first of class” (prototype) testing
  • Writing reports, giving presentations and meeting with customers and senior management
  • Ensure designs are completed on schedule, within budget, and in line with quality standards
  • Provide technical advice and support during the installation, testing, and commissioning phases of projects
  • Collaborate with other departments , including mechanical, software, and project management teams
  • Any other such duties that may be reasonably compatible with the nature and scope of the role
