Specialist Manufacturer and Distributor of Pump Systems for various industry sectors is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer,to join their established team. The role of Electrical Design Engineer involves designing and developing Electrical Control Panels (systems and components), ensuring they meet industry standards and client specifications, requiring a strong understanding of Electrical Engineering principles, as well as proficiency in electrical design software.
Successful candidate for the position of Electrical Design Engineer would possess good electrical knowledge, ability to interpret technical drawings, awareness of electrical codes and regulations, proficiency in electrical design software/tools and understanding of energy efficiency and sustainability principles. Duties and Responsibilities of Electrical Design Engineer:

• Design and build of Control Panels for Pumping equipment
• Use of electrical design software (such as AUTOCAD or equivalent)
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards and national electrical system regulations
• Oversee the installation and operation of electrical systems to ensure they function as designed
• Identify and resolve design and implementation issues
• Recommend improvements or modifications to existing electrical works
• Keep up-to-date with latest technological advancements and industry trends in electrical engineering
• Test and inspection of all work carried out
• Prioritising health and safety and always adhering to precautionary measures
• Ensure that safe working conditions are always maintained
• Conducting quality assurance and safety checks on all equipment

Skills/Qualifications required for the role of Electrical Design Engineer:

• Previous experience as an Electrical Design Engineer
• Previous experience within a similar industry - desirable
• Electrical qualification - essential
• Industry relevant qualification – desirable
• Proficient ability in the use of Electrical Design software
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• IT proficient
• Able to work under pressure

Location: Birmingham, West Midlands
Hours of Work: Mon to Thurs 08.00 – 16.30, Fri 08.00 – 15.30 (39 hours per week)
Salary: £36,504 p.a. (£18 per hour)
