Paralynx Engineering is hiring an electrical engineer | designer for the building and construction industry. You’ll play an integral part in designing and powering up a wide array of projects. See the hotels, residences, wineries, restaurants, offices, gyms, car dealerships, and other projects where you played an essential role in getting them open and serving the community.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum E.I.T. designation with EGBC, or another Canadian licensing body.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant industry experience designing electrical distribution systems, lighting, and life safety systems for buildings.
  • Strong industry knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and the BC Building Code.
  • Detail-oriented with high degree of consistency.
  • The ability to constructively participate in meetings.
  • Motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong team player, with experience working with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Client-focused, with the ability to communicate clearly with clients and provide appropriate support through all phases of the design and construction process.
  • Efficient and knowledgeable in the use of AutoCAD & Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of Revit, Dialux, and AGI32 a plus.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

As an electrical designer, you will be responsible for ensuring that designs are accurate, thorough, and meet specifications. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing electrical distribution, lighting, life safety, and security and access control systems on a variety of commercial, industrial, and multi-unit residential projects;
  • Analysing and writing electrical planning reports and EV-Ready plans;
  • Interfacing with clients and stakeholders, and providing construction support;
  • Collaborating with the extended project team which includes the client, architect, and other engineering disciplines;
  • Preparing technical reports and specifications;
  • Conducting site visits to ensure projects are progressing smoothly and following our designs (note, this requires the successful candidate to possess a valid Canadian Class 5 driver’s license and a reliable vehicle);
  • Other related tasks.

Paralynx is seeking someone who is self-motivated, highly-focused, and able to multi-task effectively, with great analytical skills. Candidates must be able to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Great communication skills are a must.
