DiSante Engineering is a leading mechanical and electrical building engineering consultant centralized in St. Catharines, Ontario. We prepare drawings and specifications for the construction of mechanical and electrical systems for a variety of residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. We also provide construction administration services to ensure what we engineer gets constructed on job sites. Our company mission is to engineer success. We complete this mission by continuously strengthening our technical knowledge, being innovative, listening to client needs, and delivering on promises we make. Our standard work week consists of 36 hours and our hours are 7:30 am - 4:30 pm Monday to Thursday, 7:30 am - 12:30 pm Friday.
DiSante Engineering is looking to add one electrical designer that is a graduate of a college or University Electrical Engineering program and preferably has 1-4 years of experience in the building consulting engineering field. The current role is a permanent, full-time position.

Qualifications of the electrical designer:
- Graduate of a College or University program in electrical engineering.
- Preferably 1-4 years of experience in the building consulting engineering field.
- Energetic and not afraid to learn and try new things.
- Self-motivated and strong work ethic.
Typical tasks and duties of the electrical designer:
-Prepare drawings, specifications, and reports necessary to deliver a project.
-Design building systems in accordance with office standards, the requirements of municipal or provincial building codes, and other applicable standards.
-Check layouts and services for continuity; developing various electrical systems layouts in co-ordination with the structural, architectural, and mechanical components of a building.
-Develop lighting layouts and coordinate with other disciplines.
-Develop power distribution layouts and sizing, as well as layouts of electrical/switch/transformer rooms.
-Perform electrical load calculations for base building projects.
-Respond to both internal and external communication regarding project or design status; report to the principal and/or project manager regarding the design status.
-Liaise with all project consultants; coordinate design requirements with all disciplines and supervise drawings between other disciplines; check layouts of electrical services for interferences with other components of the building such as structure, ceilings, millwork, etc.
-Design electrical building systems directly in Revit/CAD; adhering to company BIM/CAD standards.
-Work with clash/coordination reports, assisting with model audits and overall health of the model.
-Liaise with suppliers and/or manufacturers for design support, equipment and component selection.
-Assist in construction administration by reviewing equipment shop drawings and conducting site visits, site reviews and preparing change notices, site instructions, etc.
