We’re on the lookout for a talented Electrical Designer to join our dynamic Electrical Engineering Team in our Edmonton office, as we take on exciting new engineering projects and advance existing ones. We are looking for a motivated Electrical Designer with 5 to 7 years of experience, who is passionate about collaborating with engineers, technical teams, consultants and contractors. Responsibilities:

As a key member of our team, you’ll take ownership of impactful projects and tasks, ensuring timely and quality delivery. You’ll collaborate with a talented engineering team and contribute to shaping the future of infrastructure and technology. Here’s what you’ll be diving into:

  • Drive Project Success: Help execute the development, management, and coordination of project scopes, deliverables, designs, and schedules.
  • Innovate Through Design: Create detailed engineering designs and calculations to meet project requirements.
  • Share Your Expertise: Contribute to in-depth technical and engineering reports.
  • Be a Communication Dynamo: Collaborate with internal teams, external clients and vendors to resolve technical challenges and ensure project alignment.
  • Stay Hands-On: Monitor construction progress, review field change orders, and support testing and commissioning phases
  • Shape the Future: Play a pivotal role in equipment and construction tender development.
  • Collaborate with Vendors: Coordinate technical clarifications and design updates with suppliers.
  • Quality Assurance Specialist: Review design drawings, material specifications, and oversee QA/QC processes during construction.

QUALIFICATIONS:

As the ideal candidate you possess a diploma from an accredited technical institute and have 5 to 7 years of applicable experience in electrical design.

Your experience includes demonstrated skills in the following:

  • Canadian codes and design standards.
  • Knowledge and experience with electrical power systems.
  • Ability to utilize Auto CAD software, Autodesk Revit, Bentley MicroStation, and Bluebeam to design and produce complete electrical drawing packages.
  • Able to work effectively with engineering and construction groups to ensure that project delivery and quality goals are met.
  • Experience in multi-disciplinary coordination (integration of other disciplines such as civil, mechanical, etc.)
  • Interpersonal communication and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong communication and self-motivation.
  • Possess a high attention to detail, while managing organizational and time management skills.

· You possess strong English communication skills, both written and verbal, along with excellent interpersonal abilities and willingness to work in a team atmosphere. Problem solving and decision-making skills are essential.
