QUALIFICATIONS:

We are looking for a passionate electrical designer specializing in power distribution. Experience with BC Hydro distribution / utility design and standards is an asset. Your overall organization, punctuality, involvement and drive to perform will contribute to advancement within our team. You must have a great attitude, a willingness to learn and the following requirements to be considered for the role:

  • Over 2 years of relevant electrical design and engineering experience in utility distribution engineering or related industries.
  • Familiarity with BC Hydro distribution design and engineering standards is considered an asset.
  • In-depth technical knowledge of both overhead and underground electric utility distribution systems, up to and including 35kV.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code is essential.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment and complete assignments on time.
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality in all work.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including strong relationship management and interpersonal skills, fostering collaboration within teams and with stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of project lifecycles, including initiation, planning, design, implementation, and closure phases.
  • Experience in Project Management is considered an asset.
  • Outstanding organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with a proven history of applying practical expertise and sound judgment to effectively analyze and resolve complex challenges.
