The group you’ll be a part of You will be part of the Global Operations Group, driving end-to-end component engineering initiatives that ensure supply continuity, cost optimization, and operational excellence. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional global teams, including Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Suppliers, to enable scalable and reliable sourcing solutions The impact you’ll make As an Electrical Component Engineer, you will drive supply chain resilience and continuity by leading alternate component strategies that ensure uninterrupted availability of critical parts. You will build strong global supplier partnerships to enable scalable and cost-effective sourcing solutions. What you’ll do Perform alternate component identification and develop detailed side-by-side comparison reports, enabling effective decision-making based on Form, Fit, and Function (FFF) analysis. Own and execute component selection for new product designs to ensure high reliability, actively contributing during design reviews (PDR, DDR, CDR) Identify and select alternates for COTS/OEM electrical, electronic, and electromechanical components, including connectors, cables, cable assemblies, PCBAs, capacitors, resistors, circuit breakers, wires, fans, fuses, relays, etc. Exposure to global electrical standards (UL, IEC, CSA, etc.) with the ability to interpret requirements and drive component selection, qualification, and design compliance with applicable regulatory and safety norms Conduct detailed analysis of sub-assemblies and higher-level assemblies, ensuring manufacturability while identifying suitable alternate components. Own and drive execution of alternate identification for medium to high-complexity electrical subsystems, propose innovative solutions, and collaborate with Engineering for implementation. Work closely with Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and suppliers during part qualification and supplier onboarding processes. Develop high-quality technical reports and presentations to effectively communicate design intent, evaluation outcomes, and validation results. Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure solutions are manufacturable, cost-optimized, and meet quality requirements. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers. Who we’re looking for Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field) with 8+ years of experience, OR Master’s degree with 6+ years, OR equivalent experience. Extensive knowledge of global suppliers and OEM/BTP components, including passive components, discrete and integrated circuits, connectors, cables, fuses, relays, switches, RF generators, sensors, adapters/filters, cable assemblies, and PCBA components. Hands-on expertise in alternate component identification, including preparation of detailed comparison reports and making independent technical decisions. Strong capability to perform FFF analysis for both existing and newly identified components within large assembly systems (especially semiconductor tools). Ability to understand and interpret test requirements for various components such as connectors, PCBAs, circuit breakers, and sensors. Good understanding of electrical schematics, PCB development, and component evaluation Preferred qualifications Semiconductor industry experience is plus. Ability to work in a team environment with aggressive deadlines and multiple priorities. Good in data preparation using MS PowerPoint, Excel etc.., Ability to learn new skills quickly with minimal guidance.
