JOB DESCRIPTION

The Electrical Engineer will play a critical role in the design, development, and maintenance of drones, focusing on new electronic systems and enhancing the current fleet. This position involves creating state-of-the-art, eco-conscious Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) for the transmission industry, partnering with utilities and contractors.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering.
  • Experience with subsystems including power supplies, video systems, camera systems, LIDAR systems, radar systems, servers, motors, and motor controllers.
  • Proficiency in electrical design within the UAV space, small manufacturing required.
  • Expertise in software such as Altium, PCB design, and electronics.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in PCB layout is preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Design and develop new products and enhancements using electrical engineering knowledge.
  • Conduct electrical circuit and system-level design analysis, hardware testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Develop test simulations, methods, and perform necessary testing or data collection.
  • Conduct root cause failure analysis from component to system level.
  • Support continuation engineering of existing released products.
  • Perform reliability analysis to improve product quality.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of concepts, designs, drawings, and processes.
  • Provide detailed project estimates for time and cost.
  • Collaborate with outside design partners and vendors for new product designs and maintain current products.
  • Maintain technical coordination with Engineering, product design, test, EMC engineering, and manufacturing teams.
  • Coordinate pilot production of new products with other engineering, manufacturing, sales/marketing, and quality assurance staff.
  • Provide engineering support to factory and customer support teams.
  • Provide and coordinate engineering support for prototype builds and lab testing.
  • Write test plans and procedures for manufacturing and testing.
  • Stay updated on relevant safety and electrical compliance standards and educate the team on changes.
