AECOM ‘s Architectural Business unitBuildings + Places Canada (B+P Canada) is actively seeking an Electrical Engineer for immediate employment. The role can be based out of any of our offices across Canada with hybrid work options.
B+P Canada is a vibrant and growing fully integrated team spanning architecture, all the building’s engineering disciplines, landscape architecture, urban planning, urban design, economics and asset management for design and infrastructure projects. Project assignments may include, although not limited to: Transit and Municipal, Commercial, and Institutional projects, Justice, Education and Government.

JOB SUMMARY:

You will support projects across Water & Wastewater, Transportation, Buildings, and Sustainability sectors, including renewable energy (PV) and electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure. You will work under moderate supervision and contribute to a variety of engineering design and analysis tasks while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering + four (4) years of relevant professional experience
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario in good standing.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in sectors such as Water & Wastewater, Transportation, Buildings, and Sustainability (PV and EV systems).
  • Experience in design tools: AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, SKM, or similar.
  • Solid Knowledge of power systems: MV/LV distribution, lighting, controls, renewable energy systems.
  • Proficiency with engineering calculations and preparing technical documentation.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills (English proficiency essential).
  • Ability to recognize and adhere to established deadlines and schedules is a must.
  • Ability to fit into a fast-paced team environment and/or work independently.
  • Self-motivated, detail oriented and multi-tasking.
Responsibilities
  • Perform electrical analyses, calculations, and routine tests in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Assist in preparing technical specifications, design drawings, memos, and reports.
  • Identify discrepancies in results and propose solutions using sound engineering judgment.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to fulfill project scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Conduct site visits, inspections, and assessments to evaluate the electrical conditions and provide recommendations.
  • Provide technical or operational guidance to less experienced engineers, EIT’s and technicians.
  • Stay updated on industry codes, regulations, and best practices to ensure high-quality design solutions.
