Job Description
AECOM is seeking a passionate Electrical Engineer I to join our dynamic team in Atlanta, GA. This is more than just a job — it’s a launchpad for your future. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Applies knowledge within one or more areas to moderately complex aspects of a project, solving a range of straightforward problems and proposing possible solutions using standard procedures.
  • Works independently with a minimal to moderate level of guidance.
  • Provides regular updates to manager on project/account status.
  • Goals generally communicated in “solution” or project goal terms.
  • Continues to grow knowledge of organization, customers, and processes.
  • Accompanied by a senior, where appropriate, will participate in client meetings to discuss project requirements, explain / defend work, etc.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Solid experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Office.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s license required, as condition of employment must pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records Review. As a condition of employment, must pass a background check to gain access to military installations.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both written and verbal formats, including presenting information to diverse audiences, writing professional emails and reports, and actively participating in team discussions.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • EIT/FE certification
Responsibilities

JOB SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for engineering design and modification activities related to electrical & electronic circuits, systems, and equipment.
  • Conducts engineering design under supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Collect and analyze data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
  • Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
  • Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision.
  • Work and coordinate with multidiscipline engineering teams including civil, structural, and mechanical engineers.
  • Ensure that designs following established project quality procedures and that required quality control reviews and checks are completed and documented.
  • Surveying and evaluation of existing conditions to formulate a fully coordinated scope of work within code compliant electrical designs.
  • Travel to construction sites to conduct electrical inspections.
