This Position reports to:
Director of R&D - Engineer To Order
As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through various projects. Each day, you will acquire knowledge by performing tasks as directed. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting ABB’s operations and enhancing personal education/employment opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Currently in their sophomore year enrolled in a bachelor’s Electrical Engineering degree program in the United States, and graduating between Dec 2026 and June 2028.
  • Strong communication skills to work with Sales, Marketing, Customers, and Manufacturing
  • Strong team skills are required, but you must also be able to work independently.
  • Desire to learn and grow from a diverse set of experiences and people.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A growth mindset focused on continual learning and improvement
  • Must have valid US work authorization and must not require sponsorship for an employment visa by ABB at any time in the future.
Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates solid competence in technologies, tools and methods through solving complex problems.
  • Capable of modeling and using electrical design software.
  • Capable of being able to learn to design electric motors.
  • Analyze the effect of design or design changes on other components.
  • Actively seeks and implements initiatives to improve motor designs.
