As an Electrical Engineer/Designer, you will play a crucial role in the design, development, and optimization of induction power supply systems.

EDUCATION & PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Emphasis on power electrics is a plus.
  • AutoCAD Electrical or similar experience is essential.
  • Familiarity with standards such as CSA, CE, UL, ANSI, NEC, ASME, NFPA70 etc.
  • Proven experience in the design and development of induction power supply systems and their controls to the component level.
  • Strong proficiency in simulation tools and software for electrical circuit analysis.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Minimum of 5 years of design experience in Electrical Systems.
  • Experience in C++ or other embedded microprocessor programming tools is essential.
  • Must be willing to travel at short notice.
  • Must be willing to relocate to West Bend WI.

Responsibilities
  • Design and Development:
  • Conceptualize, design, and develop induction power supply systems based on project requirements.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and simulations to optimize system performance and efficiency.
  • Electromagnetics and Power Circuitry:
  • Apply expertise in electromagnetics and electricity mechanics to design controls for new machines and induction power supplies.
  • Work on power circuitry with a focus on voltage source and current source resonant frequency inverters.
  • Micro-controllers and Circuit Design:
  • Utilize embedded micro-controllers, frequency, and pulse width controls using mixed analog and digital techniques.
  • Conduct PCB design and circuit simulation to optimize system performance.
  • Semiconductor Devices and System Integration:
  • Work with medium to large module size semiconductor devices such as SCRs, Diodes, Mosfets, and IGBTs. Calculate losses, appropriate snubber circuits, and water/convection cooling requirements for such devices.
  • Testing and Validation:
  • Implement testing protocols to validate the performance and reliability of induction power supply systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues identified during testing phases to the component level.
  • Collaboration:
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, mechanical engineers, and product designers, to design induction power supply systems.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance during the product development lifecycle.
  • Research and Innovation:
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in induction power supply technology.
  • Propose and implement innovative solutions to enhance the performance and efficiency of induction systems.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to establish and maintain high-quality standards for induction power supply systems.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide input to ensure product reliability.
  • Documentation and Project Management:
  • Detail part drawings, process Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), and create Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Work independently with minimal supervision to complete projects on time and within budget.
  • Create detailed documentation, including schematics, design specifications, and test reports.
  • Ensure that all design and development activities comply with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with sales to give estimates as to material costs for future orders so that sales may quote them.
  • Field Service and Problem Solving
  • Resolve any problems encountered in the fabrication and construction of machines.
  • Help start-up systems in the field.
  • Go to customers to solve equipment issues.
