We have a fantastic opportunity for a Time Served Electrical Technician to join our team on with Maturation based at the Cambus Cooperage working a 3-shift rotation.

About the role
Electrical Technicians are primarily responsible for Carrying out routine maintenance tasks, ensuring the delivery of efficient and effective maintenance & repair, and should have a keen eye for problem solving. The successful candidate must have a knowledge of 3 phase electrical systems and be able to read technical drawings to a high level. Following Health and Safety policy as well as ensuring it is adhered to on sites is a crucial element of life as a technician. You will own and drive asset care IMPROVE activity both directly at site and within the asset care community. Actively taking part in root cause problem solving activities and providing subject matter expertise to ensure required fixes are identified, actioned and implemented promptly. The successful candidate will work Closely with operations teams, CAPEX and other maintenance groups (Mech & C&I) to improve efficiency of operational assets.

Desirable

  • Able to interrogate and fault find PLC systems.
  • Knowledge of machinery safety. (light curtains and key enter systems)
  • Awareness and understanding of automation and conveyor systems.
  • Awareness and understanding of pneumatics
  • Valid CompEX 01-06 qualification
  • 18th Edition qualification

Key points you would be responsible for are:

  • Attend asset care/CAPEX/shutdown review meetings along with Asset Care Reliability Business Leader– providing specialist insight into plans
  • Deliver maintenance activities for respective engineering centre/site in accordance with a weekly/daily asset care delivery plan.
  • Ensuring the accurate and regular update of Maintenance Systems.
  • At all times adhere to Diageo health and safety, environmental and food safety standards, and work to all applicable legislative procedures. Responsible for Safe Systems of work.
  • Maintain a safe and organised workplace environment through adherence to the Safety and 5S MMS practices.
  • Accountable to ensure all assigned Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules are carried out at the defined frequency and completed to the required standard.
  • Coach operators to perform autonomous maintenance tasks, machine set ups optimisation and support growth in equipment capability as required.
  • Support capital work, including installation, commissioning and testing within area as required. Responsible for feeding into early equipment management.
  • Make full use of SAP - SAP reporting & recording completion.
  • Review RCM activity on a weekly basis
  • Attend and contribute to SIC process. Complete short interval control documentation on activities.
  • Raise 5 why’s as defined by agreed trigger points. Work with Operators and business leaders to play a proactive role in situational problem solving on shift. Fixing problems and finding solutions via RCPS
  • Participate in site improvement projects, as skills & experience allow
  • Engage in start of shift meetings and performance-based team meetings to raise and address persistent performance issues.
  • Participates in weekly asset care review meetings
  • Anticipate issues and be proactive in approach
  • Support BLS & Operators to build asset care and RCPS capability
  • Attend all Tier 1 meetings, contribute to the agenda and complete actions as required

This role is based around a 3 shift rotation, however it will require some weekend work that would be classed as over time.
