ROLE SUMMARY

Our client is seeking a hands-on NPI Product Engineer with an Electrical Engineering background to join their growing engineering team. This is a newly created role — the first of its kind within the company — designed for an engineer who can own R&D, design validation, and compliance while driving innovation in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), UPS, and Microgrid technologies.
This opportunity is with a 40-year-old, family-owned company that combines long-term stability with rapid innovation. Deeply committed to its people and culture, the company has experienced 80% revenue growth year-over-year and is expanding boldly into automation, advanced manufacturing, and R&D.
The company’s CEO is a Silicon Valley–minded leader — visionary, innovative, and very hands-on — and is taking the organization to the next level in manufacturing. For an ambitious engineer, this is a chance to “put your fingerprint” on impactful projects in an environment where authenticity, loyalty, and growth are valued above all.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own the product lifecycle from ideation to prototype through production for AC & DC energy systems.
  • Analyze electrical systems for microgrids and BESS projects.
  • Conduct power system studies such as load flow and capacity analysis.
  • Evaluate and specify key components for microgrids and BESS, including batteries, inverters, and controls.
  • Integrate BESS with diverse energy sources (solar PV, wind, generators) to build robust and efficient microgrids.
  • Prepare and review technical documentation, specifications, and design drawings.
  • Develop DV/PV plans (cycle life, charge/discharge efficiency), execute tests, and analyze results.
  • Coordinate certifications for standards such as UL 1973/2580, UL 9540/9540A (systems & thermal propagation).
  • Translate product requirements into specifications, BOMs, and traceability records; maintain testing data.
  • Support technical training and documentation across teams.
  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership and the CEO on innovation and product direction
