Description
Develop comprehensive product electrical designs, installation diagrams & testing plans for NPD. Manage and update throughout product development to production release. Develop electrical aspects of new power distribution & monitoring products, per approved engineering specifications. Test and document new products per approved testing plans. Maintain all design & test documentation within engineering repository system. Support Senior Engineers for the planning and testing and Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) certification of new and existing products. Communicate and support engineering team, designers, and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information. Recommend design modifications to improve product line by following and supporting the ECR/ECN/IS09001 and other quality processes. Prepare cost reduction proposals for new and existing products based on cost trades, design improvements and Value-Added Value Engineering (VAVE) process. Cross-train on other product lines like (PDU, RPP, STS, Magnetics and Busway). Create and maintain accurate documentation of concepts, designs concepts, tool drawings and shop orders in coordination with the Quality Assurance and Manufacturing functions. Inspect designs as requested to verify conformance to specifications. Recommend measures to improve production methods and quality of product. Maintain good housekeeping and safe and healthful working conditions in assigned areas. Adhere to safety rules and regulations in engineering and test areas as established by company policy. Work with Production to find more efficient methods of producing work. Participate in activities pertaining to Safety Program. Ensure that all regulatory and internal policies are followed. Other duties as assigned Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Industrial Technology from an accredited institution required. Minimum 3 years of engineering experience. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future. Bachelor's and/or advanced degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution preferred Experience in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit, Autodesk Vault, or similar programs. Experience in design and of electrical systems and preparation of electrical drawings (schematics, powerflow, one line, etc) Ability to inspire, motivate, influence, and work effectively with diverse teams Proficient in the implementation and interpretation of applicable UL and IEC specifications. Ability to work effectively and lead cross-functional multi-cultural teams Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram or schedule form Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines Ability to simultaneously manage several objectives and re-assign priorities Ability to adapt to changes in work environment, manage competing demands and deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events Ability to solve complex practical problems Ability to read technical documents and drawings
