EP GROUP – SITE SERVICES ENGINEER

EP Group is an award winning, global packaging manufacturer with production facilities across Europe and South East Asia.
Our global headquarters in Birmingham is home to our dedicated paper manufacturing division providing a wide range of food packaging products for the likes of McDonalds, Amazon, Marks & Spencer and Greggs.
We are now seeking a Site Services Engineer to be based on site here in Birmingham, with the purpose of providing maintenance support across the EP Group site. You will be responsible for resolving electrical and mechanical issues across warehousing, manufacturing and the office.
You will be proficient at managing your own workloads reacting to issues across the 3 business areas as they arise. In the longer term, you would develop and implement a more preventative approach to site services and maintenance.

KEY REQUIREMENTS – SITE SERVICES ENGINEER

  • City & Guilds Level 3 Award for Electrical Installations BS7671 preferably to 2018 level covering the 18th edition of the IET Wiring Regulations coming into force January 2019 or equivalent qualification
  • City & Guilds Level 2 or 3 NVQ Diploma or Extended Diploma in Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent qualification desirable
  • Previous experience working in manufacturing and FMCG environment both in electrical and mechanical work preferably with an indentured apprenticeship history.
  • Experience across both mechanical and electrical environments
  • Very good time-management skills and a high work ethic
  • Be able to work at Height in the Highbay ASRS Crane Systems
  • PLC experience desirable
  • The machinery is aged for example Beasley, Cobden bag making machines so experience in this type of machinery preferred but not essential
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent technical knowledge

  • A good level of computer literacy
  • Good commercial awareness
  • The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Good problem-solving skills and a creative approach for new ideas

Responsibilities
  • Supply an agreed level of service across the site to deal with any issues in a timely manner
  • Maintenance and servicing of manufacturing machinery including mechanical and electrical breakdowns
  • Maintenance and servicing of warehouse equipment
  • Maintenance and repair to any office based issues of an electrical nature
  • Develop our approach to maintenance from reactive to proactive
  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs
  • Work closely with the H&S Manager to ensure compliance with health and safety procedures
  • Contribute to the development of maintenance procedures and plans
  • Maintain plant inspection schedule and support documentation/reporting
