Location: Raleigh, NC (Hybrid)
A leading multidisciplinary design and engineering firm is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their Raleigh-based team. This firm is known for delivering high-performance, sustainable design solutions across sectors including retail, workplace, education, and transit. QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical engineering for commercial, transit, or institutional projects
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in North Carolina
  • Proven project leadership and client-facing experience
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and other BIM/digital collaboration tools
  • Deep understanding of relevant codes and standards (NEC, IBC, NFPA)
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Prior work in full-service architecture/engineering consulting firms
  • Experience working on complex urban or user-focused environments
  • Familiarity with carbon reduction strategies and practical sustainability
  • Interest in leveraging new technologies like AI for design workflows
Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

In this position, you’ll lead the electrical design and coordination efforts for complex building projects. You’ll contribute your technical expertise in power distribution, lighting, emergency systems, and controls while mentoring junior staff and working closely with internal teams and clients. This is a key role with high visibility and long-term growth potential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead electrical system design and documentation for a variety of building types
  • Oversee engineering reports, drawings, calculations, and specifications
  • Present technical concepts to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Contribute to project planning, scoping, and proposal development
  • Support business development through strategic client engagement
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers to promote team development
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams locally and globally
  • Occasional travel (up to 20%) for client meetings and site visits
