Role Overview
As an Electrical Engineer, you will contribute to or lead industrial projects within multidisciplinary teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, standards-compliant engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical systems for heavy industrial projects
- Perform engineering analyses, including:
- Load flow analysis
- Protective device coordination
- Arc flash analysis
- Prepare technical documentation, such as:
- Calculation notes
- Technical specifications
- Engineering reports
- Design and specify systems, including:
- Power distribution (120 V, 600 V, 4.16 kV, 25 kV)
- Motor control and power supply systems
- Heating cable systems
- Power generation equipment
- Lighting and grounding systems
- Support proposal preparation and cost estimation
- Maintain effective communication with clients throughout project execution
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Licensed member of a Canadian provincial engineering association (e.g., APEGA, APEGS)
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in heavy industry or industrial facilities
Additional Assets
- Strong knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code
- Experience in consulting engineering and industrial environments
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Experience with medium- and high-voltage systems
- Familiarity with building systems and hazardous area classifications
- Proficiency in English (French is considered an asset)
