Job Description
Reporting to the Senior Electrical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in leading engineering compliance and promoting a safety culture across site. You will provide safe, reliable and cost-effective solutions to current and future electrical challenges. You will lead electrical engineering projects from inception though full life cycle.

About the Role

  • Provide electrical engineering expertise, advice and support across the business
  • Assist in developing and reviewing electrical standards, engineering practices and procedures for the life cycle of electrical equipment and installations.
  • Monitoring compliance to electrical standards across the operation through audits and workplace interactions
  • Develop and manage project budgets, technical specifications, Applications for Expenditure (AFE), tender contracts, plans and schedules to coordinate day-to-day activities to deliver successful project objectives
  • Manage change associated with projects in line with the HVO Change Management process
  • Conducting incident investigations and sharing learnings with workforce and industry
  • Conducting equipment compliance inspections and managing the introduction of equipment to site
  • Commercially administer contracts and support the planning & coordination of resources within area of responsibility
  • Identifying and communicating risks associated with health and safety as well as environmental impacts

Roster and Location

  • Monday to Friday professional roster
  • Based on site at HVO South

About You

  • A tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering
  • Strong understanding of legislative requirements (Australian Standards) and electrical engineering principles
  • The ability to work autonomously or as part of a team
  • Strong desire to obtain a certificate of proficiency and practicing certificate as an electrical engineer at a coal mine
  • Experienced in the maintenance of mining and/or fixed plant, asset management and work management principles (desirable)
  • Experience with the development of standards and procedures, the application of risk management, and auditing and assurance activities (desirable)
  • An unwavering commitment to best practices in health, safety, and environmental management
  • High level communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage and influence people
