Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Including but not limited to): Design and develop board level hardware. Research and select hardware components. Familiarity with embedded design using microprocessors/microcontrollers. Create schematic of the design. Experience with designing analog/digital circuitry. Experience designing with switching/linear power supplier. Design PCB layout, perform component placement, routing, and stack-up design according to electrical, mechanical, and signal integrity requirements. Experience with troubleshooting electronics to the component level. Familiarity with test firmware/software to verify the hardware. Familiarity with software debug/programming tools. familiarity with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT). Develop and maintain documentation, such as test procedures, software specifications, manuals, etc... Apply engineering knowledge and experience to improve products, services and processes. Use lab equipment including oscilloscopes, data acquisition equipment, and power supplies. Other duties as assigned. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering or related discipline 3+ years of relevant work experience Required Skills: Experience with Altium Designer in both schematic design and PCB layout. Experience with CAN communication, Ethernet, RS232, RS485, and other communication networks. Hands-on experience running tests on complex electronic components and/or modules; including the use of oscilloscopes, power supplies, and other various electronic test equipment/meter. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with component library creation and maintenance. Experience with EMC/EMI design and mitigation techniques. Experience with successful electronic product cases. Additional Skills: Ability to perform detail-oriented work with a high degree of accuracy. Basic problem solving and analytical skills. Basic decision-making skills based on engineering principles. Be proactive at work, with good logical thinking. Ability to manage multiple tasks while meeting project deadlines. Emphasize the spirit of teamwork, pay attention to details, and be willing to summarize and share. Enthusiasm for learning and engagement with disciplines outside of comfort zone. Excellent written and communication skills. Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls.
