Description
Assist in the testing of voltage regulator products, including setup, execution, and documentation of test results. Support troubleshooting efforts for power electronics and control systems used in power electronic and vacuum interrupting tap changers. Create and update technical drawings and schematics under the guidance of engineering staff. Develop and revise wiring diagrams for production and prototype units. Collaborate with the production team to ensure smooth integration of control systems into manufacturing processes. Participate in design reviews and provide input on manufacturability and testing considerations. Document engineering changes and maintain version control of technical files. Support the Engineering team by preparing materials and assisting with prototype builds. Interface with customers or vendors as needed to gather technical information or clarify requirements (with Engineers). Maintain organized records of work completed, including test data, drawings, and communications. Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology in progress. 0 - 3 years of experience in electromechanical products and embedded control systems or related course work. At least 1 year of experience working with engineering analysis and tool capabilities (real world or projects in University) Completion of coursework related to Open loop and closed loop control methodologies. No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Waukesha, WI facility will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Completed at least sophomore year of bachelor's program. 1 year of experience in creating, loading, and storing engineering designs within an ERP system, preferably SAP. Coursework related to power systems, voltage regulator or distribution/power transformer products/applications, and/or industrial automation/controls. 1 year of experience with power electronics product design. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, working in ambiguity, process management. Proficiency in various software applications- i.e. Computer Aided Design (AutoCAD and Inventor preferred), MS Office suite, MiniTab, Matlab. Experience working with groups on design projects. Familiarity with creating drawings and wiring diagrams on computer aided software. Ability to excel as a team player by successfully collaborating with engineers as well as cross-functional personnel to ensure custom designs meet customer expectations. Experience using or developing design programs for optimization.
