ELECTRICAL ENGINEER – GRIFFITH NSW

Kogan People Solutions, specialist recruiters, are assisting a respected busy electrical trades firm who are keen to recruit an Electrical Engineer.
The firm works in the industrial space, working with a diverse client base, on products such as boilers, conveyor equipment, industrial automation, even flow meters; it’s an exciting place to be, at a firm keen to enlarge their capacity in a critical market.
Location – Griffith NSW
Salary – negotiable in the range $75k to $85k plus superannuation, per annum.

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The role bridges the gap between design and execution, making the engineer, working with a team of highly skilled electricians, a key figure in ensuring that electrical systems are safe, efficient, and future-ready.

THE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION WILL INCLUDE:

  • Creating blueprints and specifications for electrical installations in residential, commercial, or industrial projects.
  • Coordinating with electricians to ensure installations meet design standards, timelines, and safety regulations.
  • Diagnosing complex electrical issues and proposing engineering solutions beyond routine troubleshooting.
  • Ensuring all work complies with Australian standards, codes, and licensing requirements. This includes risk assessments and documentation.
  • Specifying components like switchgear, transformers, and control systems, and integrating them into broader electrical networks.
  • Improving energy efficiency, recommending sustainable technologies, and optimizing system performance.
  • Guiding electricians on technical aspects of installations and helping interpret engineering drawings.
  • Inspecting completed work to ensure it aligns with engineering specifications and safety standards.
  • Supporting upskilling initiatives and introducing new technologies or methods to the team.

TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO POSITIVELY ADDRESS THE FOLLOWING ATTRIBUTES:

  • Highly relevant engineering bachelor’s degree or higher qualification
  • At least one years or more, of experience as an electrical engineer, preferably in a similar setting.
  • Proficiency in designing, developing, and supervising electrical systems and equipment.
  • Strong understanding of Australian electrical standards, codes, and safety regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, including planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
  • Strong analytical skills to diagnose complex electrical issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments and ensuring compliance with WHS and environmental standards.
  • Ability to mentor and guide electricians on technical matters and ensure quality assurance.
  • High level of communication skills to maintain a professional face with all client interactions.
  • Excellent time management skills.
