JOB SUMMARY

Reporting directly to the Director of Engineering, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Intermediate/Senior Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. The ideal candidate will possess an in-depth knowledge of electrical engineering principles and have a proven track record in schematic capture, digital and analog circuit design, power supply development, and interconnect systems. The role also requires expertise in FPGA development, with a practical cross-over understanding of mechanical design for comprehensive system integration. The successful candidate will be instrumental in designing and developing advanced electrical systems for our cutting-edge products.

Responsibilities

AS AN ELECTRICAL ENGINEER, YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE (BUT NOT LIMITED TO):

  • Design and implement electrical systems for various applications including schematic capture and full life-cycle product development.
  • Develop digital and analog circuitry, ensuring reliability and performance in line with specifications.
  • Design and optimize power supply systems suitable for the product requirements.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers to create interconnect systems that integrate electronics with mechanical components effectively.
  • FPGA development from concept through to production, including architecture definition, design, simulation, and verification.
  • Ensure that all electrical designs meet industry standards, customer specifications, and regulatory compliance.
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical issues and provide sustainable solutions.
  • Conduct peer reviews and provide constructive feedback on design and development work.
  • Work closely with other departments such as manufacturing and quality assurance to ensure smooth transition from design to production.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and engineering practices, and incorporate new knowledge into design solutions.
  • Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior electrical engineers and technicians.

WHAT YOU REQUIRE TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience for Intermediate Engineers, or 8+ years for Senior Engineers.
  • Demonstrable experience in schematic capture and PCB layout software.
  • Proficient in digital and analog circuit design, simulation, and analysis.
  • Experience in power supply design and optimization.
  • Hands-on experience with FPGA development, including VHDL or Verilog programming.
  • Familiarity with mechanical design considerations for electronic interconnect systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Proficient in the use of industry-standard electronics design and analysis tools.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards (*considered an asset)
