Job Summary Mavis Technologies is seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves designing, developing, testing, and supporting electrical systems and components for cutting-edge assistive technology. The ideal candidate will have strong engineering fundamentals, proficiency in CAD and simulation tools, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You’ll also play a key role in managing our in-house SMT line and collaborating with external experts to bring innovative products to life.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Altium, Eagle, KiCAD).
  • Experience with MATLAB and Simulink for system modeling.
  • Familiarity with firmware development and logic controllers.
  • Understanding of mechanical systems to support cross-functional collaboration.
  • Hands-on experience with SMT assembly, soldering, and PCB troubleshooting.
  • Strong analytical and debugging skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Experience working with external engineering consultants or partners is a plus.

    Pay: £13.00-£20.00 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop electrical systems and components using CAD software.
  • Create and analyze schematics for various embedded and wearable projects.
  • Utilize MATLAB and Simulink for simulation and modeling of electrical systems.
  • Develop and debug firmware for embedded systems to enhance product functionality.
  • Assemble and operate our SMT line, including pick-and-place machines and reflow soldering.
  • Perform manual soldering, PCB rework, and fault diagnosis to resolve hardware issues.
  • Manage electrical engineering projects from concept to testing and iteration.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers to ensure seamless integration of electrical designs.
  • Participate in product testing and validation alongside internal and external engineering teams.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Maintain clear documentation of design processes, specifications, and testing outcomes.
