Job Summary: Electrical Engineer is responsible for the engineering of electrical control systems which includes creation of electrical schematics, control panel layouts, written documentation, design calculations, estimated labor and hardware costs and BOM creation. The tasks are versatile and comprise all the phases of electrical engineering, from analysis over demand specification to implementation. Duties/Responsibilities: · Create new schematics and panel layouts by collaborating with Mechanical Engineers, Sales or Project Managers during kickoff meetings. · Design for applicable UL/CSA or CE standards per customer requirement · Responsible for technical design specification as well as implementation of new electrical components · Perform required design calculations. · Change/modify existing schematics as needed as customer requirements, hardware change or design improvements are made. · Develop and maintain organized documentation for all electrical schematics and BOM’s. · Collaborate with the Controls Engineer on projects that require PLC programming. · Learn the applications for each machine in further processing, marination and water cutting. · Maintain a strong knowledge of common electrical parts used by MP Equipment with awareness for cost and availability. · Develop standardized component usage throughout all product lines. · Assist in the testing of customer machines before shipment which may include applying power to the machine, operating the machine in the demo room, modifying HMI’s screens and layouts. · Assist in writing technical procedures and documentation for the applications including operations, user guide, etc. · Support the operational organization with panel manufacturing and follow the proper wiring guidelines. · Design electrical control systems and perform verification tests. · Participate in installing, operating and testing equipment in-house. · Develop Quality check process and analysis. · Performs other related duties/projects as assigned. Requirements Required Skills/Abilities: · Excellent verbal and written communication skills. · Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. · Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. · Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. · Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. · Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. · Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software – eciM1 (preferred) · Experience with Manufacturing Execution Software (MES) (preferred) · Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. · Proficient with Microsoft Power Business Intelligence (BI) platform (preferred) Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects and communicate effectively within a team. Education and Experience: · University degree in Electrical Engineering or Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Technician or related field. · Experience with engineering of electrical control systems, preferably in the food industry. · Experience with preparation of electrical documentation and drawing tools for preparation of electrical documentation. 1-3 years’ experience using SolidWorks Electrical Pro or similar program to design electrical panels. Familiarity with Rockwell Automation and Allen Bradley products. Experience sizing MCB’s, motor starters, drives, line reactors and overloads. Experience with Allen Bradley 525 variable frequency drives and their functions. Knowledge of Industrial Cable types and their ratings including: VFD Cable, Ethernet cable, shielded cable and power cable for washdown environments. Knowledge of IP Codes for Dust and Water Ingress IP67-IP69K
