Select components (MCUs, sensors, power systems, RF modules, interfaces) optimized for SWaP-constrained applications. Support rapid iteration cycles from concept through prototype fabrication and test. Collaborate with software and firmware teams to enable reliable data acquisition and system control. Design and analyze power architectures including battery systems, power management ICs, and charging circuits. Support EMI/EMC mitigation strategies and grounding/shielding best practices. Assist with environmental robustness considerations aligned with operational use cases. Collaborate with mechanical engineering on electro-mechanical integration and packaging. Support design-for-manufacturability and design-for-test considerations. Participate in hands-on lab build, integration, and troubleshooting activities. Develop and execute bench-level and system-level test plans. Support laboratory validation, field testing, and demonstration events. Support transition of prototypes toward production or customer handoff. Requirements Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline. 3+ years of hands-on experience in electrical design, embedded systems, or hardware development. Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB design tools (e.g., Altium, KiCad, Eagle, or equivalent). Experience working with microcontrollers, sensors, and embedded peripherals. Ability to work effectively in a rapid-iteration, prototype-driven environment. Desired Skills and Experience Experience with wearable electronics, HMI devices, or distributed sensor systems. Familiarity with radiation detection, CBRN sensors, or environmental monitoring systems. Experience supporting SBIR/OTA or government R&D programs. Knowledge of RF systems, GPS/PNT, or wireless communications (BLE, Wi-Fi, LTE, mesh). Exposure to MIL-STD-810, EMI/EMC standards, or ruggedized system design. Experience working in interdisciplinary R&D or startup-style lab environments. Physical Requirements and Work Environment Laboratory and office environment.
