Electrical Engineer - Innovation Join Omnicell in our brand new 8500 sqft innovation center in Austin, where we focus on solving our customers' greatest unmet needs with disruptive solutions to enable our customers to deliver the best patient outcomes. We are seeking a talented and motivated Electrical Engineer to join our team. This engineer will primarily focus on electrical design for robotic systems. The ideal candidate will also have experience in robotic mechanical systems as well. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement electrical controls, power systems, connectivity and PCBs for innovative designs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams from product, engineering, services, sales and other key stakeholders to rapidly prototype solutions. Work in a lean startup environment, starting with problems to be solved and hacking together prototypes for customer validation. Engage with customers to gather feedback and iterate on solutions. Push the envelope in engineering solutions, with a focus on disruptive and innovative approaches. Required Skills: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with a focus on robotics. 2+ Years of experience in Electrical System Design. 2+ Years of experience with Altium Designer or other CAD design tools. Preferred Skills: Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles for high reliability designs. Experience with embedded system communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, RS232, RS485, CAN. Experience with sensor, actuator, and PLC selection for autonomous products. (Analog and Digital Sensors) Knowledge of control theory and its application in robotics. Experience with power systems for capital equipment to consumer products. Ability to troubleshoot and debug complex robotic systems. Ability to be hands on in the prototype process. Experience with cable and PCB design and manufacturing principles. Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, startup-like environment. Extra points for attempting to build something revolutionary that failed and learning from the experience. Experience in healthcare is a bonus. Proven track record of developing disruptive robotic solutions in an entrepreneurial setting.
