Description
The Opportunity We're looking for a highly capable, electrical engineer. This role is open to all nationalities (UAE / Gulf experience preferred). What you'll do Lead design, review, and supervision of electrical systems including LV/MV distribution, lighting, power, earthing, ELV (fire alarm, CCTV, BMS, access control), and emergency lighting. Perform detailed electrical load calculations, cable sizing, voltage drop, short circuit, and earthing calculations. Prepare and review Material Submittals, Method Statements, and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) ensuring compliance with specifications and consultant/client requirements. Review and approve Shop Drawings, ensuring design intent, specification compliance, and authority regulations (DEWA, Dubai Municipality). Review consultant design drawings, verify applicability, and ensure proper coordination with architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, and ID drawings before implementation. Ensure full compliance of all electrical works with project specifications, DEWA regulations, BS 7671, IEC standards, and Dubai Green Building Regulations. Apply strong expertise in: Low Voltage & Medium Voltage Systems Lighting & Small Power Distribution Earthing & Lightning Protection ELV Systems (Fire Alarm, CCTV, Access Control, BMS Integration) Emergency & Backup Power Systems (Generators, UPS) Troubleshoot and resolve electrical system issues during construction and commissioning phases. Oversee testing, commissioning, and energization of electrical systems, ensuring zero snags at handover. Identify critical design areas, review drawings, and initiate RFIs/RFCs to resolve gaps and conflicts early. Provide commercial and technical input, including cost-cutting and value engineering solutions while maintaining quality and performance. Coordinate with Architects, Interior Designers, Structural, Mechanical, Plumbing, and other trades for seamless MEP integration. Coordinate with consultants, main contractors, subcontractors, and DEWA inspectors for approvals and technical clarifications. Prepare and present technical reports, progress updates, and risk registers to senior management and clients. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (recognized by UAE Ministry of Education). 5–8 years strong experience in MEP electrical projects (high-rise, commercial, residential, villas in UAE preferred). Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Dialux, ETAP, or similar electrical design software. Deep knowledge of DEWA regulations, Dubai Municipality, Civil Defence, and Dubai Green Building Regulations. Strong calculation & troubleshooting ability (load flow, short circuit, voltage drop, earthing). Multi-disciplinary coordination experience. Value engineering & cost optimization skills. Excellent communication, reporting & leadership abilities.
Responsibilities
