QUALIFICATIONS

  • Formal electrical qualification desirable but not essential
  • If not yet qualified, you must have practical experience and a genuine willingness to qualify (all training fully funded by us)
  • 18th Edition, ECS card, or other relevant certifications – advantageous
  • Knowledge or certification in fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, or PAT testing – a plus
Responsibilities

We are seeking a practical and hands-on Electrical Engineer to support both the day-to-day maintenance of our property portfolio and assist with refurbishment and upgrade projects.
You’ll work closely with our Project Manager and Maintenance Manager to ensure properties remain safe, compliant, and finished to the highest standard.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out electrical maintenance, fault finding, and repairs across student properties
  • Assist with and lead on electrical elements of refurbishment and upgrade projects
  • Collaborate with other trades and site staff to support general property works as needed
  • Conduct periodic inspections and safety checks in line with UK wiring regulations and Southampton City Council licensing standards
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with HMO requirements, including:
  • Electrical Installation Condition Reports
  • Fire alarm system servicing and emergency lighting checks
  • PAT testing for communal and landlord-supplied appliances
  • Stay up to date with and implement changes in local authority housing and electrical compliance regulations
  • Maintain accurate records of compliance documentation and certification
